35 Accomplishments In Our Anniversary Year
How It All Started In 1988
Excel Homes was founded in 1988 when the interest rates were high, and there was a need for more affordable housing. We lead with innovation and designed laned homes with limited or pre-selected finishes in order to keep the homes as affordable as possible. These homes proved to meet the demand of the market, as Excel quickly grew and expanded. By 1992, we had developed our first community and won our first award. Today, we have built over 14,000 homes in over 80 communities and earned over 70 awards for design and industry excellence. In 1997, we expanded into the Edmonton market, and we have seen exponential growth in this market in 2023. In 2007, when a new generation brought new priorities, we listened and built our first BuiltGreen certified home.
How It's Going In 2023
Over the past 3 decades, we have had our ups and our downs, and learned many lessons along the way, but we couldn't have done it without the support of our team, partners and of course our customers! We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you for celebrating with us all year long and helping to make our 35th year an extremely memorable and successful one. We released 6 brand new, versatile, and flexible anniversary models in Calgary including 1 front garage - the Bennett, 2 landed homes - the Hazel and the Davis, as well as 3 duplex homes - the Briar, the Cohen, and the Nova.
3. 6 New Anniversary Models Launched In Edmonton
We released 6 brand new, innovative, front garage anniversary models in Edmonton - the Lakeview, the Rosewood, the Ascot, the Fieldcrest, the Ashby and the Meadowview. Ranging from 1567 - 2235 square feet, there is a home to fit everyone's unique lifestyle!
4. New Standard Specifications Launched In Both Cities
Now offering many popular features like a wide range of three-quarter quartz or granite countertops and Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring on all their main floors, all homes also come standardized with a smart thermostat and doorbell camera, and so much more!

We have seen exponential growth in our Edmonton division this year, and we are so excited to have opened our first Head Office located at #202 4307 Savaryn Drive SW.

Excel Homes is ranked #2 BuiltGreen builder in Canada.
