Accounts Payable Clerk

Excel Homes is an established new home builder, building in Calgary and the surrounding community. We provide our customers with high quality, innovative, and sustainable homes. The Role

Excel Homes is looking for a detail oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Accounts Payable (AP) team. Working in collaboration with our entire accounting team, the Accounts Payable clerk will be responsible for accounts payable transactions and supporting the implementation and documentation of all financial regulatory requirements. The Accounts Payable Clerk provides all data entry functions and administrative assistance for the finance team.

The Responsibilities

  • Accurately enters invoices, obtains approvals and makes payments in timely manner and in accordance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensures regular payments are completed via cheque/EFT or wire transfer.
  • Resolves queries with vendors and employees when required.
  • Reviews vendor statements regularly and reconciles accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Prepares and maintains associated working papers/cheque registers.
  • Accurately reviews and posts employee expense reports.
  • Matches all invoices with corresponding PO’s to ensure accuracy; checking coding and entering all approved invoices into the Accounts Payable module.
  • Responsible for filing and maintaining AP records.
  • Works with the finance team to ensure the documentation and implementation of any financial regulatory requirements.
  • Support annual audit and quarterly review by external auditors.
  • Other tasks, as required.

Our 'Must Haves'

  • College diploma in accounting or the equivalent education is an asset
  • 2+ years’ experience in AP.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Sage (or similar).
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral.
  • A “make it happen” attitude, along with a strong commitment to teamwork, and initiative.

The Role

At Excel, the Sales Host/Hostess role is an entry level, part-time position that can lead to a career as a Sales Associate. Assisting the Sales Associate and Area Manager, the Sales Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting show-home visitors, providing information to prospective purchasers, and performing a select range of administrative tasks.

    Hours

    • Must be able to work, at a minimum, 2 weekday evenings (2 - 8pm) and every weekend (12 - 5pm)
    • Must be able to work holiday Mondays (12 - 5pm)
