Spring Fling

Now that the snow is starting to melt and the sun is shining, let us fling right into Spring! Here are three of the most fun and original DIY home ideas to get right into the season.

1. Paint a room – It is the most affordable way to completely transform a room. Brighten your mood with yellows, oranges, pinks, and greens. Different colours can bring forth different emotions. Yellow, a bright sunshine colour, is often associated with happiness, intellect, and energy. If you don’t want to commit to a huge change you can choose a feature wall to dedicate to a spring colour. An easy way to choose your colour palette is to find inspiration through nature such as blooming flowers and plants!

2. Set up a bar – Whether inside or outside you can make a temporary bar set up for a house or dinner party. Find a table and a crisp white table cloth to make your own bar. Organize your drinks and glasses with various trays, and ice pails as well. Try incorporating splashes of spring colour; rainbow glassware would brighten up any bar and also makes it easy for your guests to keep track of their drink.

3. Make a floral and herb spray – Indulge all your senses and make a homemade room spray. Start with a spray bottle and distilled water, then add your own combination of sage, rosemary, lemon, and lavender. Let the potion sit for a couple of hours to allow the natural oils to infuse properly. Spray the scent in every room! Reuse the spray as often as you would like and keep it fresh by storing it in the refrigerator.
