Excel Homes Celebrates the 10th Anniversary of ‘Not Just a Walk in the Park’

Giving back to our community is of utmost importance to Excel. Throughout the year we organize a host of fundraising events and volunteering opportunities for our employees and their families. Sunday September 10th marked the ten-year anniversary of Excel Homes’ Not Just a Walk in the Park, in support of Hospice Calgary – a non-profit organization that’s dedicated to easing the pain, lightening the burden and comforting the minds of those who are in need of end-of-life and bereavement support.

Our annual walk helps to fund support programs for children and families dealing with the death of a parent. This year was our biggest event yet, with 150 participants, including employees, trades, suppliers and their families. Together we walked (or ran) a 5 km (or 10 km) loop along The Bow. Afterward, we celebrated in picture perfect Bowness Park, where we danced, played games and enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch, prepared and served by our longtime supplier – and supporter – Western One.

We’d like to thank all of our suppliers, partners and employees who have supported Not Just a Walk in the Park over the years. Every pledge received is matched by Excel, and to date we’ve raised more than $335,000 for this important cause. We look forward to seeing what’s possible in the next ten years!
