

Events Around Town: March 2014
The weather is finally warming up which means the perfect time to get out and about in this great city of ours! Check out a few fun activities happening around town this month.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Bryan Adams Exposed is at the Glenbow Museum from February 23rd to May 4th, 214. Adams offers two distinct styles of photography. Portraits of his famous friends and colleagues, and portraits of young British soldiers who have suffered and preservered though unimaginable life changing injuries. Some of Bryan Adam’s famous subjects include Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, and Judi Dench.

PARTY PLANNING: Are you looking for a great birthday party idea for your 6-13 year old? You can team up with the Calgary Humane Society and host a fun event that is great for the kids and the animals! The party includes two hours in a private party space, programming from their birthday facilitator, a tour of the facility, a creative craft, interactive animal games, and a special animal guest! DINNER & LIVE MUSIC: The Vintage Chophouse and Tavern is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal and listen to some great live music. Every Friday and Saturday evening in the Tavern they have live music from 1pm to 1am. Various artists are featured each week, with Shannon Smith performing March 28-29th. Shannon won the 29 Country 15 Rising Star Contest at Ranchmans. Her style has the traditional sound of Lorrie Morgan, the flare of Shania Twain, and the musical strength of Sheryl Crow. HOBBYIST: Heritage Park is hosting Cars of the Big and Small Screen from January 23rd to April 21st, 214. A really fun family event or a date night would be the dinner and a movie special they have on select Tuesdays. You can enjoy a three course meal at the Selkirk Grille, admission to the car exhibit, and a classic car themed movie in Gasoline Alley’s Exhibit Hall. Dinner and a Movie is $44.9 plus GST per person. The exhibit shows some very famous cars including; The Flinstone’s car, The Love Bug, The Starsky and Hutch Gran Torino, The Dukes of Hazzard’s General Lee, and the Back to the Future Delorean.
