Employee Spotlight: Simon Podkowa - Assistant Site Supervisor

We're shining the spotlight on Simon, our dedicated Assistant Site Supervisor who keeps our projects in Chinook Gate running smoothly, one task at a time! When he's not busy organizing job sites and coordinating with trades to ensure safety and efficiency, you can find Simon traveling with my wife, visiting family and friends, cooking, camping or playing a good game of poker. Read on to learn more about him!

What is your official title?

My official title is Assistant Site Supervisor.

When did you start with Excel?

I started with Excel on April 10, 2023.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

It’s hard to narrow it down to just one specific item. I enjoy multiple aspects when it comes to my position with Excel. The constant learning, problem solving, being able to see a home progress from stake to possession, interacting with clients at various stages of the build, the amazing team spirit that is visible at all of Excel’s functions… the list goes on.

What do you do in your free time?

I really enjoy traveling with my wife, visiting family and friends, cooking, camping, a good game of poker, and of course projects around the house (because you can never have enough of those).

What’s one fun fact about you or something that makes you unique?

I took a break from university and moved to Spain when I was 23, and the stories I have from there would be enough for an awesome two-part comedy film. I also have a pretty cool stamp collection.
