Warranty Team

Excel Homes knows that a new home is the biggest and most exciting purchase you’ll ever make. Our goal as a new home builder is to create a seamless home buying experience – from purchase through possession. In fact, we have an entire department devoted to just that!

Within 35 Days of Possession

We think of Excel’s Warranty Team as our homeowner advocate. They are responsible for conducting a quality control inspection on each home. This means that they walk through every completed house with a detailed list to ensure that the home is move-in ready. Our team reviews everything from a customer’s perspective – always asking the question ‘would I be satisfied if this were my home?’ Once the answer to that question is ‘YES’ homeowners receive a possession package which includes a key-handoff, homeowner orientation date and two pre-booked warranty appointments for four and eleven months post-possession. All new-home warranty information is also included in the package.

Possession Day

On the day we handover the keys a member from our Warranty team takes new homeowners through an in-depth orientation. During the tour, owners learn about all aspects of the house including programming the thermostat, checking the humidistat, using the appliances, changing the furnace filter and locating the water shut off valve. This is an opportunity to ask questions and discuss any minor touch-ups, which will be addressed prior to possession.

Post Possession

Homeowners are also provided with a Warranty contact for general inquires and a 24-hour Emergency Hotline for any urgent issues. At two and eleven month walk through with our Warranty Specialist we review any items/issues that may have arisen since possession. Excel also keeps in touch with new homeowners via two online surveys. This allows us to both monitor and improve Excel’s home buying experience.

Excel Homes has been building new homes in the greater Calgary area for 26 years. Throughout this time, our Warranty team has provided support to more than 1, homeowners – from purchase through possession and well beyond.
