It's Time For a Good Old Fashioned Spring Clean!

Home Tips & Tricks

Now that the end of February is amongst us, we can barely contain our excitement that spring has almost sprung! Here are a few tips to help your home transition smoothly from the cold wintery season to the warmer, more enjoyable days of spring.

Firstly, we recommend that you ensure all gutters and down spouts are free of debris and clutter so that they do not get clogged and are able to drain efficiently. This is especially important to keep in mind as the snow begins to melt and we depend more on these gutters to carry water downward and away from our houses to prevent water damage. Also, with the warmer weather comes the rain and as we all know Calgary saw a lot of it last year! Small, simple, preventive measures such as these do pay off in the long run and help to keep your home in tip-top shape.

When the time finally comes to use the BBQ (along with your patio set) it’s a good idea to hose them down to get rid of any dirt and debris that may have collected as the seasons changed. Dust and dirt particles accumulate rather quickly and can pose health risks if not taken care of, so it’s a good idea to make sure everything is clean for the new season ahead!

Lastly, you must tackle those windows! Give them a really good clean, inside and out. Having clean windows has many benefits, not only do they allow you to enjoy those longer hours of sunlight, but they help you to determine how well they stood up to the cold. Make sure to check for any cracks or peeling and deal with the issue sooner rather than later to ensure your house stays nice and cool as the seasons change.

Let the Sunshine in!

Happy cleaning!
