Employee Spotlight: Nichola Turner - Receptionist/Office Administrator

Nichola joined Excel as a temp, but has since made our office her permanent home, and we could not be more happy to have her for the long haul. With prior experience working in the housing industry, joining the Excel team was a natural fit. Her friendly demeanour, infectious smile, and kind heart make Nichola one of the most relatable and easy going people within the organization.

1. How did you get into the Home Building Industry?

I have been in the Customer Service Industry for over 10 years and the Real Estate Industry for two years. I started my career in the Home Building Industry in New Homes Sales with Homes by Avi. I then wanted to transition into a more internal position within the Home Building Industry, which led me to Excel Homes.

2. How long have you been with Excel?

I have been with Excel Homes for just over five months. Since February 14, 2018.

3. What is the most rewarding part of your position?

The most rewarding part of my position is being able to help all the different departments, and seeing the teamwork it takes to build a successful company, while also getting to be a part of it myself. Another rewarding part of my position is getting to build relationships with both customers and employees.

3. How do you enjoy spending your free time outside of work?

When I am not working I enjoy spending my time playing soccer, camping on the weekends, or hanging out with friends and family back in Kelowna.

4. Where do you see yourself and/or Excel with the next year?

Within the next year I see myself contributing my experience working with our internal Sales Department. I would also be interested in venturing into Marketing and/or Construction. Most importantly, I see myself working hard to build an exciting career with Excel Homes.
