

Site Assistant
Location: Calgary

The Role:
The Site Assistant works alongside the Superintendent to ensure homes are completed on time, on budget and without deficiencies. The Site Assistant will ensure that Excel Homes has an excellent image with trades and customers through efficient and effective home construction operations. the Site Assistant will assist in the overall appearance of job sites, while ensuring that Superintendent is aware of key issues as such issues arise.
The Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support activities being completed by trades.
- Correct pre-occupancy deficiencies as directed by the Site Superintendent in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure houses stay on schedule, meet budget, and maintain margin.
- Ensure clear lines of communication with the Site Superintendent are maintained and report any key issues that may arise.
- Follow as well as ensure all safety guidelines, processes and policies are being maintained on the job site. Reporting any incidents or violations of these policies to the Site Superintendent.
- Maintain a clean worksite ensuring it is in excellent working condition, including but not limited to the removal of debris and handling all waste removal properly.
- Ensure houses are cleaned and ready for the next trade.
- At the direction of the Site Superintendent, ensure coordination of on-site material deliveries, and prepare materials for returns.
- Resolve daily issues or problems that may arise on the job site.
- Perform all work according to Excel quality standards.
- Maintain and keep in good working condition all Company assets and materials.

- Physically able to move, maneuver, lift, push, etc. up to 50 lbs.
- Adaptable and flexible personality, able to react to change in a positive way
Our ‘Must Haves’:
- High School diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years related industry experience preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years project management experience preferred.
- Basic construction skills and knowledge including how to use construction equipment and tools.
- Must provide an Alberta driver’s transcript with a clean driving record.
- Proficient understanding and ability to work with computers, tablets, etc.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with Builder MT, SiteDocs, and/or Punchlist an asset.
- Provincial building code knowledge an asset
Bonus Points:
- St. John Ambulance First aid
- Safety training courses (CSTS, WHIMIS, Fall Protection)
- PHBI Site Management courses or equivalent.
