

Junior Systems Administrator
Location: Calgary

We are seeking a skilled Junior Systems Administrator to join our team, contributing to the support, maintenance and enhancement of our IT infrastructure. This role offers a blend of end-user technical support and systems administration across various platforms.
The Role
Reporting to the IT Manager, the Junior Systems Administrator will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our IT environment. From providing technical support to local and remote staff, to assisting with system deployments and network troubleshooting, your contributions will help elevate our IT capabilities.
The Responsibilities
- Offer technical support and guidance to both local and remote staff, resolving common day-to-day issues.
- Manage a reasonable volume of calls and tickets through the corporate helpdesk ticketing system.
- Conduct computer imaging and software deployment across diverse hardware platforms.
- Diagnose and address issues related to in-house corporate applications, collaborating with colleagues to resolve challenges.
- Support various Windows Desktop OS' (10, 11) and Windows Server OS' (2016, 2019, 2022).
- Administer Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.
- Assist in network troubleshooting and support for WiFi, VPN's and related technologies.
- Research and suggest new technology solutions to address business needs
- Generate reports and analyse trends regarding current IT issues
- Participate in an after-hours-on-call support rotation within the IT team
- Undertake additional duties and projects related to the role , as directed by the IT manager.
- Occasional travel to remote locations.

- Bachelor's or Associates Degree or relevant post secondary technology certificate
- 2-3 years of related experience in a desktop support or Jr. Systems Admin role
- Experience using helpdesk ticketing systems.
- Basic knowledge of common networking technologies (DHCP, DNS, VLANS)
- Familiarity with common Microsoft technologies (Windows, Office365, Azure)
- Outstanding customer service and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in written and spoken English
- Ability to follow defined procedures to solve problems
- Keen attention to detail
- Collaborative team player
