Calgary Police Foundation: Big Event: Family Fun Day
Looking for a free event for the whole family? The Calgary Police Foundation is putting on a Family Fun Day on Saturday, June 14 from 11am to 4pm. Taking place at the CPS Westwinds Campus, there will be live entertainment, face painting, a scavanger hunt, skate park, a raffle for a trip to Hawaii, and much more! Come on down with the kids as they learn more about the 2+ CPS units that will be on hand, including a special landing by the HAWCS helicopter. For more information visit calgarypolicefoundation.com
Mary Poppins the Musical
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! Theatre Calgary is presenting this classic childhood musical adapted from the Disney movie. Rediscover the catchy songs and whimsical story about a super-nanny who magically appears on the doorstep of the troubled Banks family. Teaching them lessons about life, laughter and love “in the most delightful way!” Tickets can be purchased here and range from $45 - $15. Show runs from May 6 - June 22 at the Max Bell Theatre.
Gallery Calorie Tour
Taking place in the historic neighbourhood of Inglewood on Saturday, June 21, this annual fundraising event is a foodie’s dream come true. This is the 1st year it will take place in Inglewood, having been on 17 Avenue SW the previous 1 years, it will feature a self-guided walking tour of the neighbourhood’s finest restaurants and art galleries. There will be complimentary food and beverages as well as special offers by participating vendors. Following the tour you can enjoy a “Party in the Park”, featuring live entertainment, a silent auction art race, wine raffle, food, beverages, and more! Sled Island Festival
This fun annual summer festival is just around the corner! From June 18-22, our fine city will play host to over 3 bands, films, comedians and artists, so there is certainly something for everyone! At the main outdoor venue, Olympic Plaza, featival headliners such as Neko Case, Spiritulized and Rocket From the Crypt will get you on your toes. Not your cup of tea? Be sure to check out the line up of indie films, or get out for a laugh and discover a new comedian. Art lover? There will be many curated exhibits to take in such as the Sled Island Poster Show featuring original handmade artwork of your favourite Sled island acts and many more visual arts projects.
